someone believes in me

Where would I be today? Who would I be? What would I have achieved?… had it not been for the mentors in my life, past and current. More than ever, I am thankful for the kind-hearted people who have graciously offered their time, expertise, and wisdom to me as mentors. They saw my potential and believed in me. They wanted to help me grow into the professional and/or person they knew I could become and also encouraged my endeavors along the way. Further, they provided me support when I needed it most. When I lost sight (or was unaware) of who I was or what I was capable of achieving, they would affirm my strengths and gifts. When I achieved something, big or small, they were my cheerleaders. Undoubtedly, much of my growth is a direct result from the mentorships I’ve received in my life. It’s been an added bonus to have someone else believe in me, especially when I’m still learning to believe in myself. THANK YOU to all my mentors- I am forever grateful. If you have a mentor, I would encourage you to thank them too.

If you’re interested in changing someone’s life, be a mentor to someone! Sadly, I was reminded the other day that sometimes people go through life never having been told, “YOU MATTER.” It broke my heart. Imagine if you were the one that made the difference in his/her life, all because you showed up and cared?

I love this… I really owe my achievements to those around me. So many times I thought about giving up on goals, but I persevered through and I owe it to my personal cheerleaders! Unfortunately, you are correct that not everyone is surrounded by those types of people. We are blessed to have certain individuals in our life and families that care so much about us (blood and adopted).
