(Hi–it’s Archive Friday!)
A few times this week the discussion of perception and perspective has come across my conversations in two ways. One- someone’s perception of you and two- changing my perspective on something. The first one has to do with the fact that even if you think you are doing one thing (ie. working hard), but the other person (ie. your boss) doesn’t share the same perception, the discrepancy can leave both parties not satisfied. So I tell people, don’t bust your bootie to be recognized by your boss unless you know they will see it the same way. It’s all perception. Otherwise, work hard for yourself and your fulfillment. The second one has to do with me, and changing my perspective about holding and being with Zane. In the past I used to dread waking up in the middle of the night to feed him. Now, even after he wakes up after 1-2 hours, I shift my perspective to appreciating the moment that I get to hold him in my arms. This change in perspective makes my time with him more enjoyable and I don’t hold any negative feelings about it. Both of these cases remind me of my past post: it’s all perspective. What we do in life and how we go about it always needs to be re-viewed!
