pushing yourself to “take a walk”

Today I wanted to highlight Amy’s past post titled “take a walk.” It reminds me of the need to change up your surroundings when you are in need of new perspective, mix up the same old, or simply, get some fresh air. Staying at home with Z-man, I have to push myself to do this. It is so much easier for me to stay hibernating in our home because I get to clean up the house, rest, and best of all, stay in my pajamas! But of course, this takes a toll on me, and surprisingly, Zane. We get bored and frustrated in our own ways. So everyday I am trying to commit to doing one outside activity for us, or myself. It can be a walk to the nearby shopping center, neighbor’s house, the park, a friend’s house, etc. The change in scenario and new faces and things brings so much joy to Zane and I feel better. When I recently had two hours to myself, I employed Amy’s wisdom. Instead of taking a walk, I bought sushi and ate it in my car with music playing. That 30 minutes brought much needed thoughts and reflections to surface. I had a pen and paper nearby and wrote them all down as they flooded my mind. Thereafter, I went home and laid on the couch and did nothing. Like Amy mentioned, I felt energized and refreshed afterwards and thus, was better off taking care of Zane.

Do you need to take a walk today?

This is to true! Why is it so hard to get out of the house some days when you’re raising babies. I have found also that the out once a day policy really makes a big difference for me and the kids.

Yay! I’m glad that you are making an effort to get out with Zane, Reaksmey! The change of atmosphere and fresh air really does make a difference, I know!
