I am very thankful that I know what I am passionate about and have had the opportunity the last year to work per diem in pursuing it. Nothing beats taking notice of the moment and breathing thanks for the self-exploratory work and action it took to get there. With these opportunities available at my fingertips, it goes without saying how much more of it I’d love to do with my time. However, the reality is I don’t have the time to invest in recruiting new clients because my full-time job is with toddler Zane. For awhile I think I was unconsciously disappointed, sad, and bitter about the fact that I felt held back from pursuing my passions and had no alternate outlet to utilize my skills and heart to make a difference in others’ lives. Consequently, I think I thought two ways: 1) I can’t live out my passions right now. It’s just not the right time. Maybe one day I will have another opportunity. And 2) This sucks that I can’t be alive living out my passion, especially since I know what it is! Gr! Undoubtedly both thoughts didn’t help anyone, especially me. Then it dawned on me recently- why be so focused on living out my passion by way of the one opportunity I knew concretely of? Why not create new ways to live out my passion given my situation? I don’t need to dim the flame of my passionate heart or wait until new opportunities arise, I can be proactive! Such a simple shift of thought, but very powerful and encouraging to myself. So that’s where I am right now. Finding new ways as a stay-at-home mom to help others become more self-aware, reflect on their stories, and then articulate it proudly! I’ve already seen how God has sent people my way for opportunities to encourage them this way. I am excited to figure out more defined ways to go about this new endeavor so that each person I come across is left with skills and a renewed sense of self.
Does the flame in your passionate heart dim sometimes because circumstances do not support it? Have you thought about finding alternate ways to live out your passion and pave the way yourself? What are some ways you created new ways to help others with your passion?
